Raw HTML displayed

Every so often I get a view of the raw HTML that goes to make up the page that I'm trying to look at. I'm using Firefox 0.8 on XP. Does anyone else see this or know why its happening?

I'll post a screen shot next time it happens (if I remember)

[edit]It seems to be happening fairly regularly. I've posted the text that is shown, just in case it's an advert or something similar.

If it happens, I usually just refresh the page and all is good again 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to copy the code. Somehow the headers are coming out after the close of the html. Weird.

I've let Byron know and I'll take a look as well.

Same thing as I mentioned here. That </body></html> before everything is killing the page. Like it doesn't realize the previous request has finished or something.

Sometimes, well most of the time, all I get is...

</body>
</html>

...and it happens all the time, IE, Firefox, whatever I use...

What's the possibility that you're all running the same firewall, or popup killer or adblocker or etc? Can you let me know? No matter what I do I can't reproduce the problem.

If you don't feel comfortable posting your setup, please PM me if yuou don't mind.

No firewall (behind router with NAT. thats enough for me)

win 2k, sp4 firefox 0.8 with ad-block extension installed

I run NO adblockers, or popup blockers. My company is behind a Cisco router, but only have this problem with this board.

WinXP, IE or Firebird/Firefox...

I'm also behind a router with NAT and have a software firewall. I only browse the boards with IE which has the google toolbar which has a popup blocker, always logged in(auto login) and my OS is Win98SE 😃

At work I'm behind some huge corporate Cisco firewall, going through a proxy. At home, I'm behind a router NAT firewall and GShield(ipchains) firewall. I get it everywhere though...

I have Norton Personal Firewall with the adblocking turned OFF and I get this regularly.

I just got it again. So I decieded to look at the source of a page that did load, and on pages show threads there's never a </body></html> for me, yet the other pages(Main page, view forum) do have </body></html> 😕 Don't know if this is any help.

Oh and I now am behind a router with NAT and a SPI firewall along with the same software firewall and google toolbar blocking ads and still get it.

this website seems to be abandoned. these problems have been going on for many months and nothing is ever fixed... plus i noticed phpbuilder is running an old php version... leads me to believe the people that run this website/server don't care.

they probably just want people to click their ads and thats it.

that's not it at all...

there are folks around that care about PHPB, but it is quite a huge undertaking to upgrade and keep the site up at once...

otherwise, peeps would cry cuz the site was down...

That is a rather bold assumption....
I'd think that with the amount of traffic that this site gets, and the amount of pages it has, a server upgrade has to be a pretty bug undertaking. I know I don't get probably half of what this site gets, and we've been planning our server upgrade for the last month.
