[Resolved] Linux: GLIBC_2.3

Upon trying to install a libxml rpm, I'm helpfully told:

error: failed dependencies:
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by libxml2-2.6.6-1
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3) is needed by libxml2-2.6.6-1
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by libxml2-2.6.6-1
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.3.2) is needed by libxml2-2.6.6-1

Now, can I find GLIBC_2.x anywhere? Can I nutsack. All google returns is piles of results from people asking the same question, and I'm sure this thread'll appear on there at some point soon too.

So, any ideas will be gratefully received.

What version of glibc do you have installed?

Also, have you tried installing libxml manually? ./configure is quite handy at discovering missing libraries/incompatible versions.

P.S. It might help if you provided what distro/version you are using. I'm assuming RedHat since you are talking about RPMs
