date from a timestamp

hi i have a timestamp date("U") I then wanted to generate the date in 2 days time so i added the relevent seconds +172800
then what im trying to do is use the function date("j M, Y") for the new timestamp and not the current time.

any ideas would be most helpful, thankyou.

date has a second argument that will accept a timestamp, so...

$date = date("j M, Y", $timestamp);
