Hi,

Can somebody tell me why when i receive an email with this code......the $referer isnt actually a link, but gives me a code like
<a href="(what the $referer is)>">(what the $referer is)</a>

here's my code....oh and $referer is always a link.....for example it could be something like this: http://www.site.com.....


  $from = trim($_POST['from']); 
  $fromemail = 'From: '.trim($_POST['fromemail']); 
  $fromemail = 'Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-15';
  $to = trim($_POST['to']); 
  $toemail = trim($_POST['toemail']); 
  $subject = trim($_POST['subject']); 
  $comments = trim($_POST['comments']); 
  $referer = trim($_POST['referer']); 
  $fromheaders = "From: ". $_POST['from'] ." <".$_POST['fromemail'].">";

  $mailcontent = "$from went to [url]www.mtl-baseline.com[/url] and found and interesting thing that he would like for you to check out. Here is the link: <a href=\"$referer\">$referer</a> 

			\nadditional comments by $from: $comments"; 

  mail($toemail, $subject, $mailcontent, $fromheaders);

Change it to this:

$mailcontent = "$from went to <a href='http://www.mtl-baseline.com' target='newwindow'>[url]www.mtl-baseline.com[/url]</a> and found and interesting thing that he would like for you to check out. Here is the link: <a href='$referer'>$referer</a> additional comments by $from: $comments";

You will need to takeout the second link. PHPBuilder UBB code keeps inserting the second URL when I type it out.

the problem isnt with the www.mtl-baseline.com link....its with the $referer link.......and the code u gave me doesnt work.....its still written <a href="www.(what the referer is).com">(whtat the referer is)</a>...if you want an example....give me your email address and ill send you a test.......

I'm guessing you need to send the email in HTML (as in, tell the browser its an HTML document).

In your email header, include something like this:

"Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n";

2 problems:

  $fromemail = 'From: '.trim($_POST['fromemail']); 
  $fromemail = 'Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-15';

Problem 1: $fromemail gets overwritten by the 2nd line

Problem 2: You need some carriage returns in there. See my previous post for the \r\n placement
