link in email not a link

can anybody tell me why when i receive an email with this code.....the second link (<a href=\"$referer\">$referer</a>) isnt clickable....it just shows me the link (<a href="......</a>...does anybody know why?

Your second quotation by http in $mailcontent is messing it up. You have to have a \ before all the "s that are with in ""s. Hope that is not confusing.

well this site always adds a <a href....> for every www.com.......but the problem is the $referer.....and i do have \ where they are supposed to be

no........this site always adds to anything thats www <a href.....> to anything with www........ so this is what it should be

Yes I know. All you have to do to stop that is unckeck "Automatically parse URLs" and it will fix it. This is my code with it unchecked:

there's no difference......the first link works perfectly simply by putting in www.mtl-baseline.com..........(no <a href.... needed)
but its that link thats not clickable

Look at my above post. Notice the difference in colors??
On your post everything after $mailcontent = "$from went to <a href=" is yellow.

$mailcontent = "$from went to <a href=" <----this quotation is telling PHP that its closing.

Now....if you look at mine everything inbetween the ""s is red, like it should be.

The only time you can use something like:
echo ""HI!"";
Is if it were written:
echo '"HI!"'; <--- with single quotes.

What im basically getting at is you can not have double quotes within double quotes without having the \ before all of them except the starting and ending ""s.

All im asking is you at least try what I gave you and see if it works, and if it doesnt then you can start bagging me about it.

looks like your problem is going to be at the top.

Try changing to:

  $comments = trim($_POST['comments']);

It actually isnt being written over since I added the . before the =.

$fromheaders =
$fromheaders .=

This will give $fromheaders two different values.
