Product Search Help ( im pretty new at this stuff )

Hi, im making an online catalog, and I need help with the product search. In the one I made, you have to type in the exact product name for it to show up, but if I want it to search the description of a product in a database, what would be the query?

Use % as wildcards in you search

Thanks 🙂 So the query would be "SELECT * FROM databasename WHERE feildname='%$interest' " Right?
