& not working in redirect

As a forum rule, I try to search but this is what I got.

The search term you specified (&) is under the minimum word length (2) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

i would like to redirect a url with a & but it doesn't work.

here it is;

$link = $_GET['link'];

header("Location: [url]http://[/url]$link");

values of $_GET['link'] from previous page
mypage.php?id=5&what=b

the output of my header location is only this
mypage.php?id=5

It does not recognize & and values after that.
I also tried this but still yields an error.

$link = urlencode($_GET['link']);

help.

I dunno, but if

$link = "mypage.php?id=5 "

and you have this as your header:

header("Location: [url]http://[/url]$link");

it would be:

"http://mypage.php?id=5"

Mybe you should try something like this:

header("Location: http://yourdomain.com/$link");

My problem is that it does not recognize the character & and all other values after that. 🙁

example

this is where i would like to redirect

mypage.php?id=5&what=b 

but this is only what it brings out

mypage.php?id=5

it removes &what=b

how can i deal with it? anybody?

You need to use urlencode() before putting variables into a URL, not after you've tried to take them out.

If you want $_GET['link'] to contain "id=5&what=b" then you're going to need to urlencode that before putting it in the URL - so that the URL contains "link=id%3D5%26what%3Db"

If I'm barking up the wrong tree on this, try posting some actual code; that might making explanations a bit clearer.
