Emailing & inserting data from a form

I know that this may be something simple but what I am trying to do is to have a form send an email with the data from the form to specific address & then insert the same data into a table on MYSQL. ( or maybe have a function set up that will see that the data was entered into the table & it will email that info to specific email address ). Either way.
I have been reading the mail() on php.net but I guess i am not that good at coding yet.
Please please any help would be really appreciated.
