connectivity from website to local computer

Hello,
Does anyone know of a script where as anyone browsing my site could click on a webpage link and ring a bell (thru my speakers)on my personal computer at home? I have spent 2 days searching the cgi script sites and various resources and have not been able to find anything even close. ( i am not seeking a livehelp script. Just an alert me method).

Well, if you were hosting your site (or even just 1 script to be called) on your computer, you could the script exec() or system() a program that will ding on your computer.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply but i am afraid it is over my head. I am serving one page from my computer (streaming a web cam page)
with a fixed ip and my computer acting as a server in this particular instance. The remainder of my site is thru a service provider and i am imbedding this particular web cam page using iframes. I was trying to find a script or method wrhere as a viewer could click a link on that page or perhaps another htm page and ding me at home.
