urlencode error

hi,
when I try to redirect a variable with urlencode, it duplicates the last few characters of it. Anyone knows how to deal with it?

$url = urlencode($myrow["url"]);
echo "<a  href=\"$PHP_self?q=a&id=3&url=$url\">click here</a>";

the output is something like this

website.com/home.php?q=a&id=3&url=newwebsite.com/home.phpphp/

see the bold letters, that is the error I got. How to fix it?

Nope; never seen that. You're sure the contents of $myrow['url'] aren't mangled?
