I have Windows XP pro running on a machine behind my cablemodem and linksys BEFW11S4 router.
On the router I have forwarded http:80 to my Windows XP pro machine.
On that machine I have installed Foxserv (www.foxserv.net) Quote from there site "FoxServ is an Apache / mySQL / PHP installer package for Windows. Unlike NuShpere or PHPTriad, FoxServ features the latest version of all included pacakges, user defined configuration during installation, PHP as a module, PEAR, and the Zend Optimizer"
Then I installed Mambo (basicly like phpnuke) and a message board for mambo.
Mambo has user registration to use the forum and post news just as I had to register to post here. When you post and Email is to be sent to you at the address you specified.
On my server this does not happen. No one ever reseives an email.
I edited my php.ini (located in the windows directory) so smtp = mail.cableone.net (my isp smtp server) and edit the mail_from= with my email address ben@roothell.com
What have I done wrong. I can send mail from that machine using outlook with no troubles from any of my many email accounts including ben@roothell.com without having to place and authenication user and passwords into outlook for them to use the server. So it seems they dont care that I am useing the smtp for "noncableone email address" just as long as I am within there network.
Please help for the foxserv and mambo forums havent been able too.
Edit: The webserver has worked fine otherwise I am just getting hung up on this email bug.
Futher more I have check the log of my router and it shows traffic doing out from my server to mail.cableone.net when my server tries to send a registration email.
