[Resolved] phpwebsite Log In issue

Background:
I have been initiated to the world of PHP for ~48 hrs, i.e. seriously new newbie.

I am using PHP 4.3.4, MySQL 4.0.18, phpWebSite 0.9.3-2, phpMyAdmin 2.5.4, Apache 2.0.48, and Windows 2000 Pro. (Perhaps an overly ambitious newbie)

Getting everything installed was interesting in that it was not intuitively obvious, but I was able to verify that all components were working. (lucky I guess)

The Problem:
I began to make changes to the layout of the intitial page that displays on my phpwebsite when things began to get confusing. Instead of displaying 1 each: login box, menu box, and calendar box, I am getting 2 of each. I can not find where to look for what I have done to myself or how to correct it. I have attached a portion of a screen shot to illustrate the problem.

Any guidance on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

That's not much to go on. You could try replacing your current files with the original from the script (execpt any config files).

Perhaps a more complete screen shot will help. You will see that the menu, login and calendar boxes are on the left and right. I only want them to appear once. I can do a complete reinstall or even a partial reinstall, but I would rather have a better understanding of exactly what is wrong and how to correct it.

You probably guessed that I am new to using these types of forums. If providing a screen shot is not the best way to indicate a problem, can you provide me with a better idea of what would help people understand my problem?

Screen shots don't usually help since it's not really an HTML issue. Posting the code that you modified would help.

At thios point the only thing I can guess is that somewhere in the config file there is an option to dipslay the menu on the left side, or the right side, but some how you managed to activate both.

The problem so far has been that I did not knowingly change any code. What happened is that the MySQL table *mod_layout_box had multiple entries that needed to be cleaned up. Using the layout module in phpwebsite apparently corrupted the data in the table. I used phpMyAdmin to delete the invalid records.

Well there's not much I could tell you to do. You can either reinstall completely, or try on the forums for that software.
