help pulling the last 5 entries

I need help pulling the last 5 entries from a DB by id. Can anyone point me into the correct dirrection to completing this? I already have the DB connection established.

Read up the docs on
SELECT columns FROM tablename ORDER by some_id DESC LIMIT 5

I cant find anything on it. this site wont let me search and I tried going on php.net and i get mass info that makes no sence! help if someone can!
Is there a direct link to some info, I am not asking people to do this for me cause I will never learn that way. I just need a nudge in the right dirrection!

If you have any idea what is a SELECT query, then I have already given a nudge in the right direction.

I just wanted you to ensure that you know what was happening, and so you should read the docs.

php.net wont work here.
You need info on databases, so try say mysql.com

I understand the Query part of the code, I need help with the While loop and the structure of this loop. any info would be great!
