measuring load time

Just a quick question, i am trying to measure the load time of my pages (inluding queries, downloading images, etc). I have tried using doubleval(microtime()) but it doesn't wait for images to be loaded. is there any way to measure load time and have it displayed at the bottom of the page like this? Thanks

microtime measurements will just display how long it takes for the page to be chewed through and sent to the browser. As you have found, the other part of the equation is images (and related such as flash, etc). All you have to do is add the size of the images together, and multiply it by your bandwidth.
