COM commands with Outlook, Word, Excel

Where can i find maybe a listing of the various commands used with these programs. I read the articles on this site and the postings but say I want to do a graph in excel based on data in a mysql database. How do I tell excel what I want it to do?

I know how to open it and do some simple tasks, but where do I go for more details?

I've done macros in the programs and then looked at the vb code, but I'm not sure how to translate that into com and php?

You have to look at the (VBA) documentation for those programs (Word, Excel, and so on).

yeah, that's what i've been doing...

All that the [man]COM[/man] classes and methods that PHP provide is the interface to the methods provided by the COM object being used. Set properties, call methods. That's pretty much it.
