forms in tables

hey trying to put a form in a table and send the data to a php page to output it.

but when i go to send it using GET there is no values that are sent ... using $_GET['name'] to get that info ... i try it with out putting it in a table and it works fine...
... am using a tutorial for PHP4

You dont' have a $name variable in your form 🙂

$GET['tireqty']
$GET['oilqty']
$_GET['sparkqty']

are your variables (along with the submit).

name='sparkqty' would be equal to $_GET['sparkqty']

or is it in another place .. like you said with "submit"?

Oh I see.. You want to echo an existing variable in a form?

Try:

<?=$_GET['tireqty']?>

Rather than your:

<?PHP $_GET['tireqty'];?>

um want to send variables to the php page
which .. echos the the passed parameters ...
get the error undefined index tireqty .. ect ...

now from what i read that it passes these vars and using the $_GET would display them ??
on this seperate page

This is your problem:

echo $_POST['tireqty'];

.. should be

echo $_GET['tireqty'];

You are using the wrong superglobal 🙂

ok put them both as GET ... still get the undefined index error ....

got a question ... should the form on htm pass the vars to the php file with out using any php values in the htm file....

i am just diplaying the values from the php file when i press submit .. ??? 😕

You dont need any PHP in the form at all.. to pass vars 🙂

PHP does the work in your processor php file 🙂

Notice the differences?? I dont use backticked inverted commas, I have also added ' to the various bits 🙂

Heh, no joking! PHP is a wonderful language, it can do many a thing especially when linked with a database. The first post I made was a simple mistake: I wasn't collecting the form fields (just like you weren't correctly).
