What's a good method for comparing one file to another?
I'm trying to compare one image to another to weed out duplicates, but right now I'm going by the file's name and size. Neither of those are foolproof.

Use [man]md5_file[/man]. It's not perfect - it is possible for two files to have the same MD5 fingerprint. But it should work 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999997 percent of the time (yes I've done the math 🙂 ).
ah, of course. that's a much better way to go about it. =)
