I've recently embarked on an ambitious endeavor to program the perfect photo gallery for some friends of mine. This project however, came to a screeching halt when I hit a rather large snag.
I have tried to make the site as dynamic as possible. Meaning that all my friends will have to do is upload a directory full of pictures and the site will use the directory name as an album name and automatically create an album full of thumbnail images of all the images in the folder. However when I create a thumbnail I am no longer able to delete it. Since the script used to create the thumbnail is run by the apache server the thumbnail's owner is the apache server. And since SafeMode is on, I can no longer do anything to the thumbnail. I can't delete it, change it's properties, move it, anything.
All I have to be able to do is be able to delete these thumbnails. If I can just fix this one problem I'll have a running photo gallery.
Is there any way around this?
Thanks for you help.
