Downloading BLOBs with anchor links.

I am in the process of writing my first script involving saving files in a database (mysql), and I'm stumped as to the simplest approach to provide links for users to download them. Suppose they open a page for a certain category with associated files. Do I loop through the files for that category and print form tags around them, performing a separate sql query at the time of click?

why not just loop through each file in your database and print out a link like http://mysite.com/download.php?file={$filename}

Just wait till you get to the fun part of making the download.php script. (not hard, but interesting)
