Total Newbie needs help

hi everyone
totaly new to php ,i need some help ,ive managed to make my site have a IMAGE.PHP (i.e click a link from main page for a jpg image and it will load that image in a new php window ,so i dont have to have a new html page for each jpg image i have

image.php?file=holiday.jpg

and it opens the chosen image with a border ect... which i like

my problem is i have alot of FLASH SWF files i would like to open in the same way ,so i dont have to have 100 diff html pages for my 100 swf files

i.e a php script that i can have like my image script
swf.php?file=animation1.swf
and it will open my swf file with a border i assume ill have to add the swf file dimentions aswell unlike jpg script which will get that for me?

any help will do thanks

If you have the [man]ming[/man] extensions installed, you can get the height an width.

But question... why the border? Half the time borders look like crap IMO. I would just have it all centered on the page, and/or have a border made into the Flash file.

i just need to know how to get the flash file to play / open

as you can see many links to many html pages to play each flash file

what i want is ,one page to open
with a link like this

flash.php?file=angels.swf
flash.php?file=angels2.swf

so it will open 1 page but on each instance use a diff flash file

so how can i make this flash.php ? i tried editing my image.php to load swf insted of image files but it wont open them

Do you have mysql? By the way I know nouthing of flash, so I may be ignorant. Do you open it in a new window or what? You could make it redirect to the flash file using the variable.

i have fixed my problem
altho its not the fix i wanted because i had to make a .php file for every flash file 🙁

i think you said what i need 'linking a flash file with a variable'

can you tell me more on how to do this?

sadly i dont have mysql 🙁 my webserver wont have any database's at all 🙁 they tell me to use txt files to read and write any database lists...

Ok, you have the flash file right? You take a mysql database and put a link to the file in one colum and an id (like the name) to it in another. When they click on the link, it takes them to one php page, that gets the link and name and other info you want on the page, it displays it. In the link to the other php page, you will send the variables of what to get from the database, flash.php?name=dfsgf you know? like in a get method
