sessions not saving

Ok i have a news script(cutenews) to be precise. I have just upgraded my php version to 4.3.4 and had to set up a new sessiondata folder. Checked php.ini, its directed to that folder. When i run the news script and log in, the session does not save into the sessiondata directory, and it logs me back out when i click a link.

What i need to know is why the sessions aren't saving into the folder they're usually supposed to.

When you setup the new folder, did you give it write permission? Also, what OS and Server are you using?

Depending on what version you upgraded from, your code may need upgraded too.

im running PHP 4.3.4 using php4apache2.dll on Apache 2.0.47(i think) and Windows XP Pro SP1a.

2 questions...if you echo out your phpinfo....does it show you the path to the php.ini that you're changing?

Is the new session folder writable?

all folders are writable...and the folder is in php info as the correct one. I've just been messing around with php.ini(replaced my previous with a one from php distro) and apache doesn't work.

What do i need to append to the bottom of php.ini to get it to load the php4apache2.dll module?

ok, sorted the module loading, but apache doesn't load still.

Ok finally got apache back up and working. But sessions still aren't saving into the sessions folder.
