Registration - Log In Script

Hi im looking for some help a.s.a.p if anyone is interested in helping me code my site to allow visitors sign up and become a member then be able to enter certain parts of the site. If anyone is willing to help please contact me back at [e-mail] or reply to this thread. I have been looking through tutorials but this is fairly difficult for me. its the first thing ive tried doing only because i really need it. thanks.

Below is an example from SSD of their login area on the side menu. I'd like something similare but for my colour scheme.

Check out PHP Freaks for their tutorials. There is one for a Membership system that was a big help to me today. My form validation is finally working, lol. It includes login script.

I would like users to be able to log in on the left menu bar on the bottom using to text boxs or something similar. One for the username and one for the password. A button below these to log them in and below that button a text saying register (for non-members). This text would be a link to our registration page.

The second way i would like people to be able to log in would be through a button on the navigation area on the left saying 'Log-In' which would then take them to a log in page. I would like the same done for a registration button which would take a non-member to a registration page.

I would like the registration process to be easy and not to much to fill in: (Does not have to be in that order)

Username
Name
Age
Email
Password

When some one becomes a member I would like them to have instant access to areas which only members can like my downloads area. I dont want to have to verify their registration. When a non-member trys to access my downloads area I want them to recieve an error on the page or on a msg box telling them they dont have access and then redirect them back to the main page. Or something similar.

I want everything to match my site (colours, graphics (thier not to heavy))

my suggestion is to use MySQL and sessions.

Have your script look up the database to see if it finds a match of username and password. if it does it assigns a session if it does not it throws an error.

Although you say that you are attempting this first. my suggestion would be to look through these few functions:

[man]session_start[/man]
[man]session_register[/man]
(psst: look at the point about $_SESSION a wee bitty down the page)
[man]session_destory[/man]
[man]mysql_connect[/man]
[man]mysql_select_db[/man]
[man]mysql_query[/man]

no no thanks alot! its just woooow its a bit much lol im takin a look at it though. just prefer for it to be a bit more easy for my first try. (im so silly for tryin to create a member system for my first try! lol)

• registration
• upload photo
• email validation
• login, logout
• user updates / edits information
• access to parts of site AFTER paypal payment
• keeps track of last login, can send reminder emails

do you have one for sale, or know where i can find one? i've searched hotscripts and all around the web for weeks and haven't found the right one...
