how to use CURL with https, how to use CURL with https

I am creating a file to connect to a remote system over a secure path seems like when i am using the: curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0);
the other system is reading my system. Anyone know a better way to connect?
