fgets issue

hi guys 🙂

I just noticed something strange:
when I read a line from a file using the "fgets" command, and if the line that will be read contains the "<" character, it doesn't return the full line, but just the part before the "<" character...

how come?

fgets() reads up to the end of a line, OR a byte limit that you pass as an argument. If you think you are seeing it stop for any other reason, you need to examine the contents of the file more closely. Use a tool such as a hex dumper.

use htmlspecialchars() when echoing the content of the file:

while (!feof($fp)) {
    $buffer = fgets($fp);
    echo htmlspecialchars ($buffer);
}
