PHP Error Log

Hello,

In one of hosting accounts I've noticed an error log in several directories that run PHP pages. Each error log contains the exact same error over and over and over again. One error log shows the error has repeated over 27000 times in less than a month!

I don't see any errors when the pages are run, and they seem to run as they should. Can anyone tell me what is causing the following error so I can correct the problem. The error logs are getting big quick!

[08-Mar-2004 14:57:29] PHP Warning:  Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library './/usr/lib/php/extensions/swsms.so' - .//usr/lib/php/extensions/swsms.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

I don't know what swsms.so is or why it's being asked for...

It's aparently a SMS module. Someone is trying to load it, and it doesn't exist on the server. Either they're trying to load it through the php.ini, or compiled it in, or just someone put it in a script, and it's replicating to all the error logs. Either way, you should contact the hosting company and let them know...

I reported the error to my host and they said it wasn't a server problem.

Can you tell me what an SMS module is? If I know what it is/does, maybe it will help me track down the offending code in the pages.

Well, SMS is just a messaging service, and you know what a module is. Here's the page I found that on. Looks like it's just using [man]dl[/man] to load it at runtime.

Haha, like I said I reported this to my host a little under a month ago and they told me the problem was not server related. After scanning my pages for swsms and not finding it I asked them again today and guess what.... it was a setting in php config which they changed and bingo, no more errors.

So it was server related. Sometimes tech support just isn't what it should be.
