Upload and resize using gd1.6

My host said that they are not updating the server to use gd2.0 so I am still stuck with gd1.6. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a script that uploads a picture and automatically resizes it. I searched around but have not found one script capable of doing this.

I am not interested in using image magick.

There's no especial difference; GD1.6 does do GIFs but doesn't do truecolour images, is all. Replace [man]imagecreatetruecolor[/man] with [man]imagecreate[/man] and [man]imagecopyresampled[/man] with [man]imagecopyresized[/man], and it ought to work without much further effort.

Or consider getting a more responsive host.
