I know you're not supposed to do it, but I tried it and it seems to work fine. What exactly is the problem with it?
No problem that I know of...where'd you hear you're not supposed to do it? PHPmyAdmin adds ;; all the time to its autogenerated queries.
It's on php.net:
"Note: The query string should not end with a semicolon."
http://ca3.php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-query.php
Why do they bother mentioning that if it doesn't matter? scratches head
Unless, maybe it just used to be a problem? I dunno...
OK, you win my prize for the month...actually quoting the manual! Good for you. Personally I never use the semicolon, but I know that it works even so.
they dont want you getting the idea that you can put two statements in one mysql_query(), i think.
I guess that makes sense... although, that's a rather vague way to express it. Meh, oh well.
Oh and nemonoman, that wasn't sarcasm, was it?
Absolutely no sarcasm at all. Manual reading appears to be a dying art, if the messages on this forum are to be believed.
Oh, okay. That's a relief! Haha, and yeah, I know what you mean. :p
