Carry return and Line Feed ("\r\n")

Hello,

I need some help about creating a text file 😛. I have to create a text file with PHP with a few lines and i use the caracters "\r\n" to introduce a new line.

The result of that is perfect in my computer, on a local web server and it is, even, good in a free web hosting server (miarroba). But in other free Hosting Web server (lycos )i obtain a rare caracter (a square) and not a new line. I don't know how to resolve it.

I have to say that my computer have a MS Windows OS and i see the text file with the notepad. I think that is important because the caracter (square) is the 'CRLF' of UNIX-based systems.

How can i resolve it? I need the text file in windows format with independence of the server! the code is the same in my server such as in the internet server.

Sorry, the problem is already resolved. I wasn't using "\r\n", I was using only "\n" but I hadn't advice it.
