Apache - Trying to get mod_rewrite working on Windows XP

Unfortunately, mod_rewrite flat-out refuses to work on Windows XP.

I tried following a tutorial and uncommenting the LoadModule option, but it generates a 500 Internal Server Error. What else do I have to do to make it work?

BTW, I'm using Apache 1.3.
