[Resolved] [Resolved] session/variables question

i have many different pages that have the same variable names. if i start using sessions on these pages, will all those variables be carried over when i process forms and do MySQL queries and what not?

If on your first page a session variable with name var1 holds a value 'val1' and you use the same name on a second page the value should be replaced (only session vars)

and to add on to what olaf said, i'd been understand so far that as long as you don't used session_unset() or session_unregister() , those value won't be lost or terminated. am i right?

ok, what about this:

on every page the user can submit his/her name and email and sign up for the newsletter. of course these variables are named $name and $email. on another page there's a guestbook, with the same variable names, $name and $email. if there's a session running, and someone submits $name and $email to the newsletter script, then submits $name and $email to the guestbook script, will the values from the newsletter script be re-written, or will they stay the same?

you got me confused... 😕
but i think i got some of your point. as i understand so far (why am i keep saying that?) as long as the var being register, the var will be hold until session terminated or unregister it or like olaf said, exit. so, if you shouldn't use the same name if you want to hold different var like name for this and name for that. like $name for this user, if he's the same person who log in and then write the guestbook, then it's ok to use the same $name.
