why php script does not show results/errors

I've been running into a problem with my website not showing the results of a php include. In fact, while the PHP symbol appears on my end (Dreamweaver 4), just fine, when I upload it, there is no results, nor are there any errors.

What would be causing this to happen?

It does not seem to matter whether I point to php's server path. I received some excellent help from this board, and at this time I'm wondering if my webhost might have turned off error reporting (why they would want to do that is beyond me), or if they have blocked my access to their php application.

Thanks in advance. I'm sure there is a logical reason behind this.
