HELP! Make a couple bucks... ***

I need some one to configure my apache server for my XP system. I've tried everything everyone's told me, but nothing works. I'm no computer guru...

I don't want to keep wasting anymore time, so I'm wiling to pay someone to configure it. I'm sure all that needs to be done is change a word or two in the conf file...

I'm willing to escort my computer to your place, to have it configured. Will pay $35 for your time, considering it probably wont' take much time anyway....

I live in the Eastside area in WA state. Willing to drive out to Seattle, though.

Please email me at dogberts_rule1@yahoo.com

THANK YOU!!

are you trying to set it up manually (i.e. add apache, php and mysql seperately) or are you installing a triad package?

Triad packages are an installer based compilation of said software that installs it and correctly configures it to a useable state under Win32.

In essence, it "runs out of the box".

    go here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/phptriad

If you are trying to set it up manually - I can write you some easy to follow documentation and even provide you with the correct configuration files.

      Hey thanks for the tip

So do I download all the programs listed? Which one do I download?

Have you read the stickied thread yet that i made. It shows how to setup both a CGI install and a Module install.

          http://www.internetmaster.com/installtutorial

This guide takes you step by step. It is probably the best I have seen for windows.

It covers MySql, Apache, Php as well as MySqlCC and PhpMyAdmin.

          Hope that helps..

PS -> If you have a high speed connection, someone, even I if you like, could configure this over the wire through remote desktop.

Give the triad package a go for starters. You don't need to download all of the packages, just this one:

            PHP Triad

And as the rest of these guys said, there are superb references out there to help with installation and configuration but I would definately give the triad package a go before going down this road.

Also, getting someone to connect to your machine via remote desktop, vnc or any other remote package is a bad idea if you don't know them. No offence ajberry.

            best of luck!

              6 days later

Okay, so I've downloaded the PHP triad program and installed it.. I downloaded it into my Apache folder. What do I do now? I went into the htdocs folder to see if a little test PHP page I had written works now but it doesn't... the text is there, but the "show the time" function is not visible.. and I know it's not because of a syntax mistake I made on the script, cuz I've checked it a million times... so what do I do now?

So is my Apache server still not installed or configured? .. HELP...!

I really don't understand all this lingo I get from "help pages"... I just wanna learn PHP, so I'm not too savvy when it comes to my Apache server... wahh!!

              mia

Okay, I've completely had it by now. I tried following the instructions on the website that was suggested and Apach still did not work. I type localhost in the address bar and I get "file cannot be found". I've downloaded everything I was supposed to and configured everything by the letter, and still nothing...

I've really had it... I'm about ready to pay someone to do this for me..

                THIS SUCKS!

Okay, so someone else emailed me about my woes and suggested easyphp, which worked.. although I think I was making a lot of dumb mistakes myself, that's probably why PHPTriad didn't work.... but problem's fixed.

                  Thanks everybody! 🙂
