Submit form not making sense

I have created a form that has one field and a submit button. Basically the user enters a number and submits it, when submitted it calls my search page. The problem I have run into is when they click the submit button it works just fine but if a user enters a number and then presses enter I get nothing on the search page. Doesn't make sense to me does anybody have a clue on whats going on

is the field you are trying to submit $_POST?

My guess is that you're looking to see if $_POST['submit button's name'] is set to decide whether they're submitting a search request? It seems that hitting enter doesn't qualify as "clicking the submit button" so the submit button's value isn't added to the request so the test fails. Try looking to see if the field that actually contains the number is set instead.
