Run in background

Hi

i want to build a weather application and i have a xml feed.
I want to connect to my feed something like each hour to pick the new data and send it to database

it is possible to have a automated script who will run in background and execute itself each hour ?

on a linux box it owuld be a 'cron' job. this is an autmated process. it will run your program/script as often as you would like.
