Weird Permissions error with MYSQL

Hello. I'm developing an e commerce website using PHP and MySQL. I've run into an interesting problem. I've created a user for the database that is passed throught the mysql_pconnect. The user has been granted all privleges. I have to pages set up, both pages use a simple select statement. One page works fine, the other page throws a "MySQL reports: select command denied to user: 'houseofj_houseof@localhost' for table 'tblProducts'" error. I do not get this, it has all priveldges and the select statement works on other pages... all using the same include connections string. Any hints or ideas are greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!!!

I'm having a similar problem. I'm trying to set up a few tools on our students group's webpage. I want to test my php code to make sure it works with MySQL before I load it onto the server.

I only have one user on my SQL client and all users that are @ cannot login. I'd create another user, but I can't even log myself in to do this.

I'm still trying to track down the error myself. I emailed the hosting company and they told me programming error. While this is highly likely, the error message is permissions for mysql, not a programming error, and i've gone through the code (very simple only 15 lines) and i can't find any errors in it. The dba at my day job said something about issues with permissions just on localhost. Something to do with the mapping of the ip s and such. I'll post a solution if i can ever figure it out. If anyone out there has some ideas, please feel free to share! tia!

after more error checking its looking more and more like its the user priveleges on the host. Right now the user has all privledges on the localhost, and it needs to be % however, the user doesn't have grant permissions either, so yeah. More contacting the hosting company and praying that they can help me solve the problem!

technically a month late with this suggestion (I was looking for an answer to something else) but it may be worth entering '127.0.0.1' rather than localhost. No idea why, but it worked when I had exactly the same problem...

thanks for the suggestion, it also reminded me that a solution was never posted.... I did try the 127.0.0.1 which didn't help either. I ended up having the hosting company drop the database entirely, delte all the users, and just basicly start over, and that worked. I doubt this is much help, but that is how it was solved....
