simple select from MYSQL question please !

Morning All....
Not too tricky I think, just not sure how to go about it....
I have 2 tables

==

A

A_ID | B_ID

and

==

B

B_ID | Name

what I want is all the names from table B where B.B_ID does NOT appear in A.B_ID.

"select B.name from B, A where B.BID <> A.B_ID"
as I thought, this only prevents the selection of the first match..

Do I need to use sub selects, or issue 2 SLQ commands ?

Any help on this would be greatfuly recieved!!!!!

A subselect could do it I guess.

Something like this. (Postgres syntax)

select name from B where b_id not in( select b_id from A );

[mrhappiness]

SELECT b.name
FROM
  b
  LEFT JOIN a USING (b_id)
WHERE a.b_id IS NULL

should do the job like you want it to be done

the subselect solution doesn't work for mysql below 4.x
