help on truncating numbers

hi guys,

I need help on truncating numbers/floats.

I'm doing a round up function for money values:

256.590012 + 0.009 = 256.599012
256.58689 + 0.009 = 256.59589
256.594875 + 0.009 = 256.603875

Results will be truncated like:

256.599012 => 256.59
256.59589 => 256.59
256.603875=> 256.60

No rounding off needed.

Take your pick; [man]round[/man], [man]floor[/man], [man]ceil[/man]. Between those and maybe the odd multiplication or division by 100, you should be able to put something together.

I already found the answer to my problem :

// truncates number to two decimal places without rounding off
$a = 132432.499911213356332;
$a = sprintf("%01.2lf", floor($a*100)/100);

I found this in the manual's user contributed notes, might help others..
