forms,php,and mysql

Im not sure if this is a normal html question, Php question, or a mysql question. SO please forgive me if im posting this in the wrong area. I looked threw the back logs and didnt see what i was looking for so i thought i would give it a try and ask you all..

what im trying to do is echo a mysql row into a form text area.

But its not working.

This is what i have:

<input type="Text" name="tracklist" value="<?php echo $tracklist ?>">

But i want this text area rezised and i can not for the life of me figure it out :/

i tryed doing the textarea tag but that did not work.

<textarea wrap=physical name="tracklist" cols=60 rows=10 value="<?php echo $tracklist ?>"></textarea>

If someone could point me in the right place to look or explain to me why its not working that would be great. Thank you..

To resize a textfield you need to use

<textarea rows="30" cols="40">
...
</textarea> (rows and cols takes numerical values only)

for example. And to get values from mySQL you need to connect to a database and run queries. So you really need to read a tutorial on that if you don't know how, as its a bit complicated for one post.

🙂 i just figured out what i was doing wrong..

(the wrong way)

 <textarea wrap=physical name="tracklist" cols=60 rows=10 value="<?php echo $tracklist ?>"></textarea> 

(the way i should have done it DUh im dumb)

<textarea wrap=physical name="tracklist" cols=60 rows=10> <?php echo $tracklist ?></textarea>

I already had all the connections inside my script i was just trying to figure out how to echo rows to a form text feild 🙂
