Assembling two images together using the GD libraries?

Hey,

I've searched both the forums and GD library manual, and haven't found an easy way to do this. I'm just wondering they best way to open two images, and make them into one image. I was thinking of creating a blank image, then somehow inserting the image into that. The images would always be at the same position, so that would be an easy way. Not sure if it's possible, though.

Is this not possible? Will I have to display each image seperately? :p.

you want to merge 2 pics to one pic with the same size or you want one big pic containing both pics not merged together but one pic below the other one?

Er... I'm not sure if I understand what you are asking.

Lets say I have two images, both seperate images:

AND

Both 50x50 Pixels. I would like to make them into ONE 100*50 Pixel image --

However, I would like to do this on the fly, as the actual images I would be using are dynamically generated.

There IS a reason I'm trying to do it this way. 😛
