matcing \n\n but not \n

Not so easy I believe.

Upon the processing of the input into a textarea I'm trying to preg_replace two or more consective line returns (\n\n) but not a single one (\n).

I was hoping this would do the trick, but I'm getting an error:

$s = preg_replace("(\n){2,}", "\n\n", $t);

Warning: Unknown modifier '{' in /pathstuff/edit.inc.php on line 12

Any ideas? Thanks...v
