Hi,

Is it possible to automatically purge entries in a MySql table on a predifined time?

Say I want to store the order details of a customer in a table for 15 days and then I would like that row to purge itself from the table so my database doesn't get too big.

Is it possible to do that?
how?

I don't know exactly how to do it, but I'd imagine it would be something like comparing the current date with the date the row was posted, if more than 15 days then it gets deleted..

I have never heard of size becoming a problem with MySQL tables. How big are we talking?

ok, It's not just a seize issue, but I want customers to access their order details for a period of 2 weeks (withing wich they can keep downloading the bought items) and afer that I'd like their order to be removed from the table so they can't access it anymore.

Any idea on how I could make that happen?

preferably in some sort of automated manner?
