Hello... I have an idea I'm working on for an e-mail program for my site, but I can't seem to find any help on an idea for it... You see, what I'm trying to do is basically make a list of addresses right? Then when someone sends mail to x e-mail address, it will forward that e-mail to person #1's e-mail... then the next time someone sends an e-mail it will go to person #2 on the list. I've looked just about everywhere for help on this one, and haven't found it. If someone can help me that'd be great.

I think all you have to do is make a file that will store the number of times the mail form has been used. so when someone submits the email, first it looks in the file and sees nothing since it doesnt exist, so it writes the first person on the list, then write a 1 to the file. next time it sees a 1 and sends to the seconds person, and writes a 2 to the file and keep the process until you reach the number of people in the email list, and then reset the count.

I have two questions for you:

1) If I did that... wouldn't I have to manually reset the count each time it goes through the entire list?

2) How would I even make a file that does that? >.<;

My aim here is to have something that goes through a list and cycles back around on its own. Thanks for replying Please reply again lol

you wont have to automatically reset the count because the script will do it for you. it will count the number of email addresses and determine if the number is bigger or smaller than the number of addresses.

here's some pseudo code.

keep an array of email addresses.
count the number of values in array using count()
open a file ./count.txt and read the count
email array index "count" read from the file
open the ./count.txt in w+ mode to destroy. and write count + 1

I get it now ^{^;;;} Jeeze I can't believe I didn't think of that smacks self in head I was trying to use an id in MySQL and reset it everytime it got above x number.
