im having a problem in my domain lookup

just found lately the problem that if a domain statyus is Registrar-lockup( existing domain name but the information is unavailable to the public ) "try visit. www.oneononekickboxing.net or search that domain using whois " then it will display that the domain is available.

Any one here has a script for domain lookup ?? so i can figure out what is the problem with the script of mine kinda dawn here and need some sleep

Yes !!!! my extension for .net has bugs and i dont know where to find. The bug just found out when we checked the oneononekickboxing.net which the status is Registry-lock. But other domain which has .net extension and is not registry lock is ok.

This is really helpfull information.

I just wonder, is there any way of not retrieving all the text just a "mark" saying that this domain-name is occupied or not?

I guess this is what you use the NET_NOMATCH for? Me as a newbee would be very happy to retrieve and learn more about this.

Don't know where you are running your whois against for it to hide the details. The status registrar-lock means

REGISTRAR-LOCK: The sponsoring registrar sets this status. The domain cannot be modified or deleted. The registrar must remove REGISTRAR-LOCK status to modify the domain. The domain can be renewed. The domain will be included in the zone.

This indicates a very active domain that is being protected by the tag-holder.

According to InterNIC Will my name and contact information be publicly available?

Information about who is responsible for domain names is publicly available to allow rapid resolution of technical problems and to permit enforcement of consumer protection, trademark, and other laws. The registrar will make this information available to the public on a "Whois" site. It is however possible to register a domain in the name of a third party, as long as they agree to accept responsibility -- ask your registrar for further details.

So whomever your script is using is just not very good, now are they. Try using one of the other whois registries.
