photo gallery

I have a website where I would like the members to be able to post or delete their own photos of themselves on the site. I would also like to be able to manage these photos myself in case anyone posts a photo that is inappropriate. I'm using php with mysql. Can anyone recommend a program for this. Thanks in advance.

your program will be php (your asking for a recommendation program) or your asking for a source code,script,etc. using PHP

You're quite right. I've never used Gallery. Is it any good? Have you used Photopost and can you make any comparisons?...............................Actually forget that, I've just had a look. There is no comparison. Gallery is very poor compared to Photopost. Photopost all the way I'm afraid. Although, Gallery is free and Photopost will cost you a heap of cash. There is that.

No I haven't, but I'd rather not pay for something if I can get something just as good (or better) for free.

Photopost looks very similar to coppermine which (IIRC) will integrate with YABBSE quite nicely.

Gallery on the other hand is good because you don't need any sort of databases, yet is still just as fast as coppermine.

Ok, I've just had a look at the photopost features and apart from the fact that gallery doesn't do eCards, nor is it db driven (which is not a bad thing), does not integrate with any forums (but it will work as a phpnuke or postnuke module, so the users can come from there), then they share all the same features.

Oh, yeah and the saving of $129 is also very nice 🙂

Photopost sites look so much tidier. There are so many more options in terms of configuration, uploads, category display etc, etc. Photopost does integrate with phpnuke as a module although I haven't bothered. Have a look at my site if you like......

I totally agree that something for free cannot be sniffed at and if it does what you want why change? I remember now that I have seen Gallery before when researching modules for phpnuke.

That is a very nice site. V clean.

I guess it's all down to personal opinion. My opinion is that there's not point in spending $100+ when I can get something that does pretty much the same thing for nowt.

Personally, I like the way gallery integrates with nuke. Example here (be gentle, it was my first theme 🙂 )

[edit]Take a look at Coppermine... seems to have quite a lot of the features that Photopost has...
