Need second set of eyes: table issue in IE

Only mildly a PHP issue, but I'm not sure if it's related to PHP or to HTML.

Compare the page ERP Services between IE 6 and Netscape 7.1 on a PC.

It looks great in Netscape 7, but notice, in IE, how the center table is a pixel wider than it should be?

I'm going nuts trying to drill down to what is causing this and how to fix it.

Not sure if this could be the problem but you are using a image as a 1px black border. This maybe where the problem is. You can get the same effect using a stylesheet and defing borders in that. Then just apply the style to the table.

OMG, what version of IE are you using on your Mac?

Looks fine in Safari; IE5.2 pushes the binocular box out and below the boundary table so that it dangles out the bottom. Odd.

i've got 5.1

saying that tho - i've just looked at our stats and if that was our site and our traffic only 1% of the 300,000 people who've been by would have seen it that way

it might be because you have defined a width in px.
Mac IE5.1 ADDS padding, border and margin properies to the defined width whereas PC IE6 and other browsers subtract the added properties from the defined width.

if something is 100px with a 1px border on MacIE5.1 it is 102px wide.

The problem with the border being 1 pixel to the right, however, is not with Mac. Oddly, it's with PC, and it's only that 1 page. 🙂

The Mac issue is actually a new development I hadn't foreseen...
