I have a red hat linux 8.0 server running apache 2.0. It also has php4.2.x that came with the standard GD1.6.x. I am running image scripts that utilize php and GD to autocreate thumbnails out of an extensive image DB. My problem is no matter how I write the scripts it creates an error wanting to use GD2.0. So I figured I should upgrade to php4.3 because I believe the tarball comes packaged with GD2.0. Where can I download the tarball or rpm? Do I need to uninstall the prev. versions or upgrade via rpm -u xxx? Are the any problems to be encountered with apache2.0? All of this is on a production server with many endusers(i.e. 1000's). If the server goes down for more than 4 hours at night, well you know. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
