I have a windows 2k machine (P4 + 512 ram+80GB IDE HD-7K rpm) with mssql server on it + apache 1.3 + php 4.2.
For some reason the server runs very slow and the response rate is pretty slow.
We have a crm application on the intranet on that machine and expect around 100 ppl to be accessing it simultaneously. Right now even when only couple of ppl r testing the ms sql server takes lot of cpu resorces and slows down tremendously. Sometimes even php.exe shows to be taking 100% of the processing. Why is this? and how can i solve this?
As far as php installation is concerned i am using php.exe i.e. the CGI version, I have read on the net that ISAPI is much quicker and faster enough. Is that true but at the same time ppl mention that its not still stable enough?
Also, what can be done to improve the performances of the ms sql server?
Please advise asap.
