killing a href link

hi guys,

I know this is not strictly php talk

but is there away of disabling a href link

I know i can kill a text field like this....

print "<input type=\"text\" name=\"module_id\" value=\"{$data[0]}\"Disabled><br />\n"; 

but trying this with the href link does not work....

Yeah, just underline some text.

echo '<u>Disabled hyperlink, not quite</u>';

or leave out the href

echo '<a title='' ....etc without href>Link</a>';
