Network Solutions wants something like $35 a year to register a domain name. Others are less. I found a place called www.orderyourdomains.com that charges $9.95 a year, but I'm nervous. Could I register a domain and have it 'vanish' or suffer some other catastrophe at some point after my client has become dependent on it? And what would my recourse be? Does the price we pay Network Solutions buy true peace of mind, or are they all pretty much the same, so we should go for the cheapest we can find?

Seems to be good and cheap. Plus, you will have the ability to change DNS Server information on the fly instead of the various things and methods you have to go through with NS and Enom.

I've had some things with them for a couple years now and no problems and as far as I know I don't receive spam from them or any affiliates of theirs.

    Good luck...v

I use Freeparking both at work and for personal use. About $44.07 all inc for a .com for 2 years doesn't sound to bad to me. And you can manage your DNS completely. No fees to transfer away.

Tis all good to me 😃

I use dotster (www.dotster.com). Easy to use web control panel(s) (in PHP, no less!) 14.95/year com/net/org, sometimes they run specials (last weekend it was 8.95 for .com)

I called their customer service once; they were back to me in less than two hours with the issue resolved.

I use www.123-reg.co.uk for all my domain registration, cheap and very reliable with a control panel for you to manage your won web forwarding, e-mails and DNS all included in the original charge

            mydomain.com .com $8.50 save10now coupon gives 10% off so 7.65

            ukreg.co.uk 2 year .co.uk for 6.50

FWIW, the front page at Netcraft currently contains a report on registrar growth (dotster led Feb to Mar.) and a list of prices at some of the larger registrars....

Gordon, thanks for the pointer. Stupid me, unfortunately, yesterday visited mydomains.com and didn't like the UI, so I went and registered at dotster.....

What did I discover? Same &)!@_) UI at dotster!!
