can i set a for condition as a variable?

because i did so and the loop happened just once... so i wonder it's in part well and part bad...

any feedback on this please?

$s[limit] comes from an array from a row of a database table and its value is 17.

You want to set the loop as a variable? No....but you can make it a function, which probably does what you want, and lets you call it at any time.
